G’day legends…
It’s your boy Elvis here — Golden Retriever, professional tail-wagger, part-time snack inspector and very proud Ambassador for the Australian Koala Foundation.
Normally I’m here to report on the important things in life — muddy paws, big walks, strategic couch naps and the occasional mysteriously disappeared treat.
But today I’ve got something a bit more serious to bark about.
This weekend is International Women’s Day, and I want to give a massive Golden Retriever salute to one very tough human… MY MUM!
You might know her as Deborah Tabart OAM, Chair of the Australian Koala Foundation.I know her as the lady who runs the house, answers emails at all hours… and still remembers to feed me. Priorities.
Mum has spent nearly 40 years fighting for Koalas and the forests they call home. And when I say fighting, I mean really fighting — travelling the world, making a proper ruckus to politicians, and refusing to sit quietly when Koalas are in trouble.
Honestly, if determination were tennis balls, she’d have a backyard full of them.
So for International Women’s Day, I’m wagging my tail extra hard for mum — and for all the women who stand their ground, speak up, and refuse to give up when something matters.
Because when humans keep fighting for Koalas… there’s still hope.
Stay kind, legends — and look after the bush.
Saving Koalas, one tail wag at a time
