Hello Koala lovers,

It is with great sadness that I let you know Mr. Darcy passed away after nearly 15 years of service to the Koala, me (Mum) and the AKF.

When I first thought about having a Dog Who Blogged in 2011, it was state of the art and at the time there were a lot of Koalas being killed by dogs and other threats.

He was syndicated around the world and often on TV preaching being a responsible dog; going to bed at night, not chasing anything and remembering to be on a lead. He even showcased some of our products on our  online Shop  and of course he absolutely loved going to  Quinlans .

On his rainbow journey, I told him we were off to Quinlans. In recent times, he was guarding the car when he saw my familiar suitcases that I take to Quinlans. When the Vet arrived, he was more than happy to greet him and then get in the back of my car. It was all very peaceful, which was typical of the incredible character he had during his whole life. I can honestly say he never, ever chased anything right from the start and his first night was at Quinlans with his elder Dane the Great. I remember it so clearly and he has bossed me around ever since. I will miss him dearly.

Here at AKF, we have created a  Pet Memorial  at Quinlans and it is only fitting that we launch this now he has left us and  Elvis  will take over the reigns.

I am sure you will wish him well as he takes flight with the angels.
